Excel was established in 2005 and it opened its facility in Celbridge in 2006, with a team of highly qualified professional coaches, it has built up an excellent reputation and provides a broad range of competitive and recreational classes.

Originally Leixlip Gymnastics (founded 1996), the dedicated belief of then Head Coach, Natasha Preston, that the children in the Club had enormous potential, she was seeking more training hours for the club in local Schools and Community Halls.

 

However with limited alternative resources, the decision was made to obtain a unit for full time sole use by the club.

 

EXCEL was formed when LEiXlip Gymnastics was joined by CELbridge Gymnastics and even with the limited space of 2,000 sqft training area an impact had begun. In early 2009 we expanded into a 2nd Unit and it allowed greater training possibilities for all members.

In 2018 we opened a 2nd facility of 10,000 sq ft in Cherry Orchard , to facilitate our competitive gymnasts. Here they train up to 26 hours per week and compete Nationally and Internationally in Mens & Womens Artistic, Rhythmic & Acrobatics.

 

Currently EXCEL has many of its Gymnasts training and competing on the various levels of The Irish Gymnastics National Squads in Artistic, Acrobatic and Rhythmic Disciplines.
